The Song:

The Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York hasn't always been known as a hot bed for rising indie talent, but Lighouts, the duo consisting of guitarist/bassist/drum programmer Gavin Rhodes and vocalist/guitarist Greg Nelson, arrived on the scene earlier this year with plans to change all of that. They led with debut single, "See Clear," an A-Side, B-Side collection that also included a cover of The Stone Roses' "Here It Comes," and, as they continue to lay the finishing touches on their upcoming album, Want, are now releasing their latest single (which, like all of their singles, will also include an original B-side and a cover tune), "And It Comes And Goes." The single, which recently debuted as AOL Spinner's MP3 of the Day, does well in continuing to show off the duo's diversity, and so much so that Lightouts originally considered offering up this latest single as their first, before eventually opting to lead with previous single "See Clear." "Musically, this is our most raucous and climactic song," explains Rhodes. "We originally considered using it for our debut single but 'See Clear' won out because we thought it showed more range."

Upon listening to "And It Comes And Goes" two things quickly become clear: First, you likely haven't heard rhythm guitar work this enjoyable in some time, and, second, Lighouts have a knack for delivering catchy, sing-a-long choruses that still manage to do well in maintaining the group's edgy, distorted-guitar driven sound. As wailing guitar feedback fades into racing, thumping drums and an infectious quick-fire bass line, it's Rhodes' driving guitar and Nelson's lightly effected vocals and quips that truly grab the listener's ear as the song pushes forward, whipping into full frenzy as the chorus hits with Nelson belting the line, "Day light, all night, all night long." For Rhodes, who follows with his own dizzying guitar solo, the mission was clear. "'And It Comes and Goes' is a straight-up rocker," he remarks, before adding, "Play it loud."

The Background:

Lightouts founder Gavin Rhodes started with a simple question: "Robert Smith/Emily Haines, where are you?" But this appeal to fans of The Cure and Metric didn't appear on Craigslist or in the Village Voice. The flyer was posted near the less-than-picturesque Gowanus Canal. Greg Nelson, a veteran of the NYC music scene, responded to the ad and the rest, as they say, is history. The pair exhibit a rare musical and stylistic cohesion: structured bass lines, waves of fuzzed out guitars and vaporous vocals put a new spin on the moody post-punk aesthetic of bands like Joy Division and Smashing Pumpkins circa Siamese Dream. A loosely linked concept album Want, a meditation on what it means to follow our instincts is in the works and in the months leading up to the unveiling of the album, the Gowanus duo is set to release a series of singles. With a tip of the hat to an analogue era in the not-so-distant past, each single will feature both an A-side and two B-sides allowing the band to offer up songs complemented by experimentation into deep-cut covers.

Library" returns for Season Four on Monday, March 28th at 7PM ET/PT,
putting a new batch of contestants through all new challenges, created

"Silent Library" is the game show that takes a group of six contestants

beautiful Bavarian waitress or eating a cow sculpture made entirely out
of butter. If the team is able to complete their task absent of sound,

It's been over a decade can you believe it since the series "Behind The Music" Premiered on VH-1. The good thing about the series is that it's back, its really back. The main thing is this, "Behind The Music-Remastered" is bringing back some of those classic episodes of Behind The Music. Elton John and Leon Russell Announce Dates For 'The Union' Tour

Elton John and Leon Russell will be embarking on a U.S. tour in support of 'The Union', the duo's collaborative album to be released October 19th in the U.S. on Decca (October 25th in the U.K. on Mercury Records.). The concerts will feature Elton John and Leon Russell performing a night full of their hits, including selections from 'The Union'. The album marks the first time these iconic artists have worked together since 1970.

Produced by Oscar and multiple-Grammy winning producer T Bone Burnett, 'The Union' was recorded live in the studio with Elton and Leon on dueling pianos. The 14-track disc includes selections written by Elton and his lifelong lyricist Bernie Taupin, as well as the combined incomparable songwriting team consisting of Leon, Elton, Bernie and T Bone covering a variety of musical genres-from R&B, soul, gospel, country, pop and rock.

Elton John and Leon Russell will also be part of T Bone Burnett's upcoming The Speaking Clock Revue. The multi-artist concerts, which include a stop at Neil Young's annual Bridge School Benefit in Mountain View, CA on October 24th, will also feature John Mellencamp, Elvis Costello, Gregg Allman, Ralph Stanley, Punch Brothers, Neko Case, Jeff Bridges, Karen Elson, Jim James and The Secret Sisters.

People have been saying to me, school just started is it too soon to walk out in Delta, Aka, Zeta, Sigma Gamma Rho, Sigma Kappa, Delta Zeta, Delta, Delta, Delta, Sigma, Sigma, Sigma, Alpha Gamma Delta, and Kappa Sweetheart-K Sweet Jackets. Now the main thing is this--the 100 year anniversary of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc events have been rolling into my inbox. You have to check South Carolina, Wake Forest area, like Bowling Green Kentucky these are the Kappas that have hollered at me about 1911-2011. I can't wait, I mean it I can't wait. I am so excited I have so many friends, one hundred years of K-AY-Psi, they are going to clown they are planning so many events all around the world for 100 years of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Now this question about the jackets and stuff usually comes from my haunt my old stomping grounds of Norfolk State and Old Dominion by the forest and sh*t. The main thing is, "If we break out the jackets too soon will people be expecting us to form a line? Or will they think they missed a short line that like happened right when school started." I am saying bring your jackets out Labor Day Weekend and I mean it. Pick a school like one of my favorite schools like bring the noise capital like Rutgers-New Brunswick, Temple, Seton Hall, Wake Forest, UNC Charlotte, and Duke--imagine just a slight breeze and rocking your little Sigma Kappa jacket and finding your Pike "sweetheart" dude or rocking your Zeta Phi Beta jacket and seeing that Sigma who had the summer job working down at Disney.

So I mean it, bring out the jackets Labor Day weekend, like even that Friday at your Student Union (loving the Lady Sov song Student Union) or if you all are at the Student Center. Be prepared for curious looks, hater looks, questions and all that.

Be safe there are chain messages and rumors on these Trac fones and Virgin Mobile phones that hip hop fans are under arrest or state witness for listening to the music of T.I. (and Filant is dead and Tip supposedly didn't serve enough time turn yourself in-in Georgia) or "You listened to the Carter 1 and 2, we need you to visit Lil Wayne in jail."

Now the best website for real accurate Fed news is www.fbi.gov and I mean it as a kid in the late 80s so many guys wanting to ruin a girl would say toss your purse, throw away your id, in this fake fed haze that now spreads from Miami Vice to years of CSI and Law and Order--guys want to claim fed and they may even trick women into selling drugs, working selling themselves or even tell them to ditch their kids. Be careful. So many people are doing mean things telling people to ditch their lives.

First of all despite my face and what you think of my race I have no serious convictions, no misdemeanors and no felonies. I am a really good kid. We come to this discussion at the FBI--the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security busy time of the year--that flight window in between the Aaliyah plane crash (September 25th 2001) and the September 11th Attacks that demolished New York City and affected FAA travel for our entire life time. Now people always write me about the Aaliyah plane crash and about my time on the East Coast of the United States of America in between the Aaliyah crash and the September 11th attacks--Why? Being Famous. I am Dorrie Williams Wheeler from the Celebrity Interview website Thabiz.com and I have interviewed top celebrities such as Mary J Blige, Teena Marie, Bow Wow, Chris Brown and Many others. My celebrity experience shapes the entire planet earth--it does.

Now when the Aaliyah crash happened I was on the telephone with my friend in California. She had a nice nickname and she worked for a top talent agency. People had been telling me that my West Coast famous phone calls were crushing the feelings of East Coast residents who didn't have famous people calling on the phone all day and night. How were they hearing who I was talking to on the phone? Now to avoid MCI WORLDCOM lawsuit, as they were located in Hampton, Virginia--I will say that someone in the telephone industry remembered me from working at Illinois Bell at 88th and Ashland in Chicago and had so called "sold" my famous phone calls to the party line world a situation where blacks and whites sit in an office and like listen to famous people talk on the phone. My phone calls had bottomed to this cess pool of famous lurkers since 1988, I still have famous phone numbers but would never put them in a loose Virgin Mobile phone as this is for official government business.

Being a self proclaimed State Witness in that Beanie Sigel kind of way is fun as every book that I have written, especially The Unplanned Pregnancy Book for Teens and College Students has made it to some kind of investigation. Now after the Aaliyah crash people said that my "Virginia Beach" celebrity friends a world that was around Missy Elliott, Timbaland, Malice, Pusha T, and Pharrell Williams had to "get on a plane and see if we crash out and die." They told us we had 48 hours to get on a commercial flight to so called "make the industry feel safe since our Gold Mind loving asses had been flying nigga safe for years and now Aaliyah and 8-9 other people were dead."

So I mean I worked for the Federal government and it went down, the money was in my East Coast bank account and I had my kid and I bought a ticket and got on an airplane. it was not scary as being FAMOUS life famous you listen that all your artist and friends heed the message and no one is locked up or boxed in, not even lying but I always thought of good rappers like Ja Rule I hated to hear the lies of rappers locked up--meaning is Lil Wayne really in jail or has he been arrested? And while we were at it who lost a night of sleep wondering if T.I. ever went to jail? Well they had phone rumors that people I liked like Ja Rule was in jail and I didn't like people calling me saying R.U.L.E. was in jail put it like that.

People like to bubble people down with threats to make their body shake--AAliayh dead, you and your baby next Dorrie. That is being famous in that world and I mean it everyone hasn't written 7-8 books and have them all over the world and had websites like Sororitysister.net, Thabiz.com, and Imissthe80s.com for years--for years--we are on Nine years for Imissthe80s.com, 7 years on Thabiz.com, 7 years on Sorority sister.com and 10 years on Sparkledoll.com so this rogue speeding world made a zapper named All rappers in jail, all celebrity photographers in jail so my vehicle was getting buzzed "hip hop journalist--send her to jail, sympathizes with Murder Inc--send her to jail, Ashanti fan send her to jail," just something one of these kids made.

The next thing is that---I took the flight and it landed at Midway International airport in Chicago, Illinois--celebrity photographer world--I handed over all of the coveted East coast party pictures, yes days of partying with Destinys Child and Eve, Ruff Ryders all of that as Chicago was HONGRY, HONGRY for the celebrity pictures I gave them numerous Zip 100 disks with all the pictures, they now resurface in Google a little at a time.

I arrived in Chicago on their lucky day, August 27th 2001, just days after the Aaliyah crash and this hip hop thug nation says I cannot return home until after the New York funeral of Aaliyah held around the 29th of August or the 30th of August goes down without a hitch--22 doves off in the sky as we made sure they set off the 22 doves for Aaliyah.
